Dianna Lynn Walker is back! With a new website www.DLWFineArt.com, I am blogging again. For me, this is a great day because I am present and I feel healthy. Even with the turmoil in all our lives, why wouldn’t it be a great day as I know it…TODAY! Yesterday seemed a bit unsettling because of a great number of things. Tomorrow is still an unknown.
Coronavirus has put us all in a different state of mind. . . and it affects each of us in a different way depending on what has happened in our corner of the world. Living in an apartment complex while my house is being renovated has brought to light what close quarters so many people live in. My outdoor space is one that I cherish. I never saw my neighbors outside before all of this started happening. Now with so many working from home, it is amazing how many people are now coming out onto their balconies to get fresh air. It is unsettling the effect it has had on everyone’s lives.
Since I last wrote, my new neighborhood is The Domain in North Austin. It is a popular section of town that offers great shopping, A+ restaurants and is very high energy. After selling my condo, I moved here for just a few months to experience this lifestyle. I simply walk straight out the front door and immediately see restaurants of high quality. One would never need to cook living here. My wallet has shrunk since I have moved into this environment. How could it not with so many apparel stores available as well?
Not anymore! Every single store here at the Domain is closed due to Coronavirus. . .even APPLE! Every restaurant is closed to dine-in…at most only take-out orders are allowed. What was once a High Energy location, is almost a ghost town.

While we go about our busy days before this virus, so many of us have not taken the time to stay in touch with the people we care most about. Now friends and families become utmost important. We can still be social even if our locations are SIP (Shelter-in-Place). In fact, virtual parties are starting to happen everywhere. Give a dinner party, have happy hour or invite someone for coffee…virtually. Schedule a time to meet up online. Have everyone share what they have been doing to keep themselves busy or send out a recipe for everyone to make and enjoy it together online.
Get creative! This is also a time for creativity, catching up on long forgotten projects and a time to write and photograph life around you. Most important, use this time to stay healthy, safe and always be positive as you go about your day. The strength of our nation begins with each one of us as we go forward. Stay Strong and Stay Healthy!
