We live in a world of noise.
….most of us wake up to the sound of the alarm clock reminding us to start our day. We get dress perhaps listening to the morning news or music playing. Most have to dash into the car to take the kids to school, go to work or to our exercise class. Everyone has their own morning routine. Regardless, the noise level is at a high depending on what we are doing. Planes in the air, cars on the road, sirens going off, dogs barking, people talking. What do we see and what’s going on in our heads? Noise! Unless a person is out in space, there is always a level of irritating noise that is artificial. . . even visually. Think about it.
Have you ever tried to escaped the noise?
It’s time for silence! There are different kinds of sounds around us that can be therapeutic and even visually calming; that is, if we are in the right place….physically, mentally, visually. This last week I have transitioned into a place that I needed for my mind, body and soul. Because I am in a new location, I am more aware of my surroundings. I am listening more because I am letting nature take over. I hear the wind, the waves crashing upon the shore, the crackling of leaves beneath my feet and the wings of birds in flight. What’s even more special I am not hearing the traffic, sirens and barking dogs. I even have given up my personal Facebook. Not only am I hearing and seeing nature, I am feeling it inside my soul.
I am in a place where beauty surrounds me. . . water, wildlife, nature and beautiful people inside and out. It is a cleansing of my soul. I am learning to do many things that I have not taken the time for. I have enjoyed the process and have met such wonderful individuals that I know will become life friends. I have been taking the time for silence and will continue to do so. It is the best thing that I have done for myself and my photography in quite some time. I feel refresh!
Wherever you are or whatever you are doing, make the time for silence! You will become a new person, trust me on that!
I would love to hear what you do to tune out the artificial sounds…please comment and please SHARE! Perhaps you can hear the sounds of my nature images in The Joy Element Collection. If any of my fine art pieces interest you, please contact me personally at http://www.diannawalkerphotography.com .
